pirate wasnt linking to torrent downloads. he was linking to a torrent site. there is a difference. true there is illegal content on the site, but hes not really linking to it.
if you look at it the way you are, linking to google is bad, because you can find all kinds of illegal content on google

Exaactly, so what makes demonoid.com OK and thepiraebay.org not OK? Of isohunt.com? Or even Download and Share for free .

Whats the difference? Are they all trackers, they all only offer up torrent files, not the actual downloads. The downloads are seeded by the people creating the torrents and registering with the trackers.

Where is the line drawn?

if the link being given isnt a direct means to an illegal file then it is allowed. Demonoid is no worse than posting Google.com. In fact, i have found more illegal crap through google than through demonoid.

You guys are so full of crap. You just don't want to admit that this was wrong. Don't insult me by expecting me to be IGNORANT ENOUGH to believe you use torrent sites for perfectly legal reason.

As far as what you say about google, that's an absurd argument. 99% of people use google for reasons that are perfectly legal, yet AT LEAST 99% of people use demonoid for reasons that are ILLEGAL. Demonoid is a site that promotes piracy, and linking to it from this forum says PSPMODS condones piracy. PLAIN AND SIMPLE.
I'll put this again so you guys can read it, maybe you'll stop ignoring what it really says.

Unlike you, I don't resort to 8th grade antics when I'm upset. And as far as my "opinion" goes, I wasn't giving it. I was giving straight up INFORMATION. Your "opinion" that torrent sites aren't illegal won't get you out of court if you get caught.

What makes me laugh is that you guys have no problem flaming someone for asking "where do I get iso's" Yet you get upset when someone points out a broken rule that you've said nothing about. The only difference is no one is asking for the link, you just posted it ahead of time. And as far as the invite only thing goes, that argument is BUNK because there are obviously plenty of people on here who use the site, and now there's kids asking for invites, so they'll be given out using this site as a medium for piracy. Congratulations.

relating to the torrent rule, it says no linking to torrent downloads. its not like hes going demonoid.com/thisfile/download now or whatever, he linked to demonoid.com which is NOT a torrent download.

so okstranger if you dont like it, ignore the thread, plain and simple

and just because people are asking for invites to a torrent site does not instantly mean that were kids

You guys can keep saying that all you want, but you are forgetting where the rules say "or discuss where do get pirated movies, software, or games" I'd say this qualifies as discussing where to get pirated content, since that is what demonoid is for.

BTW-I use the word "kids" as a plural for people, not meaning children. I call everybody "kids"

Obviously another mod, supermod, or the admin would have removed it if it was breaking a rule.

The ONLY reason it is still up is because a mod posted it. Had some new member posted it, the thread would've been closed a long time ago.

I really thought the people on this site were above pirating, but I guess I was wrong.

i never said i was upset. i was trying a different method of getting you to drop the subject since everyone of the other members who posted rational arguments had failed to get through to you.
