How To Resize Pictures
ah, another tutorial for me. fun fun. this one is a lil different though. now, we get alot of picture threads showing off something and most of the time, the pics are huge. luckly, theres a easy way to make them fully viewable for those people with smaller screen resolution Step 1:
Open the picture in MSPAINT. im using this pic i find of a nissan skyline as an example. its at 1024x768 resolution, which is too big to be viewable on a web forum Step 2:
Now click on IMAGE and then STRETCH/SKEW Step 3:
Now youll get this menu. it scales based on a percentage, so enter a smaller number for both values. keep it equal though. i like to start w/ 50 in both values Step 4:
now u got all this space around the image... what to do?

How To Resize Pictures
Step 5:
use the mouse arrow to "grab" these tiny gray boxes on the bottom and right of the image and bring it up to the edge of the pic Step 6:
now your image is nice and small and ready for display on pspmod.com or any other forum. ive notice that really images get distorted with this method, so i reccomend changing the setting on your camera to medium detail or so. the detail stays the same, the pics res just goes down. then when u resize it using this method, it wont distort. easy huh?
**original tutorial by julie @ pspmod.com. **
oh, and dont point out the irony of a resizing pic thread with huge pics. i already noticed

How To Resize Pictures
is this really worth a sticky? a N00b on a stick will know how to shrink an image. There isn't a graphic program out there that doesn't offer this capability somewhere in it's menus/options.
I mean... if shrinking is your goal and mspaint.exe is for some reason your image editor... you can save yourself 4 steps off the above tutorial if you just use the "Attributes..." option (from the image drop down) instead of "Shrink/Skew"
But hey.. thats just my two cents... |

attributes doesnt scale the image. it just makes the pic smaller by cropping. what i did was provide a guide to show people how easy it is to resize pics without cropping, and this guide is intended for anyone who doesnt have additional image editing software on their comps
