The guy I bought my PSP off of has a DS and he loves it. But he is a big time Nintendo Fanboy.

I myself also feel that Nintendo is for the younger crowd. But with the newer more adult games (manhunt) coming to the wii that all may change soon.

In my opinion, the ds is cool for just the pure novelty of it. Have a 2 screen display, one for game play and one for maps and input is pretty ingenious.

I myself like the versatility of my PSP hacked or not. Just the feature of being able to watch a movie on it while waiting somewhere is awesome. Can a DS do that? Probably but i doubt Nintendo will never allow it to happen. But that doesn't make it a bad piece of equipment. If your main goal is to play games and have fun doing it you can't go wrong with either system.

And the for the record, the only reason i have my PSP is for one game only. SOCOM.

The DS is very hackable, it's just not many people bother with it. Mostly due to the fact it's about 100 dollars worth of equipment needed to allow it such things.

right after christmas i bought a DS to play FFIII. i thought i woulda liked the DS but after clearing FFIII and trying out numerous other games i just traded my DS and all the extra stuff in to get my psp, never looked back.

Yea, i wouldn't ever get a DS before a psp. And i see that most people agree that they"feel the ds is for the younger crowd" but someolder people play it.

The DS can be fun because you can play with alot of your friends at the same time without having to use an online feature.

most games on the psp ad-hoc are up to 16 players which is alot

its old news but yes the DS is garbage for the average gamer by now unfortunatly the wii will suffer the same fate.

You mean it is garbage for the HARDCORE gamer. You forget that you are a part of the hardcore gamers, not the average. Most average gamers would prefer a wii over a PS3 or 360.

Yeah I know what you mean I have to remind myself regularily that there are average gamers out there. Many of my friends are and so it is impossible to hold a good conversation about video games around them. However that is why I have other interest's. Average gamers are creepy. They don't follow games with a cult like obsession and they rarely care heavily about the depth of game play.

Yea, I would say more active people would by a wii. And more "Hardcore" gamers would get a ps3 or 360 because it has better grapics and the game play is usually better. Because I played to madden 07 for wii, And i hated it, actually I broke the game and throgh the pieces out my window like frisbees. Then i unhooked the wii, threw it back in the box, and hooked up the ps2, played madden on there, and i was just fine.

See they guy i bought my PSP off of is a hard core gamer. He has a 360, but swears on his Wii. I can't even talk to him about gaming systems because he is such a Sony hater. If i even mention to him anything about the PS3 he calls it crap and starts to spout out comparisons between the 360 and the PS3. He also has the guts to say that the 360 is better because it has more game out for it than the PS3 does. I have to remind him that the 360 has a year and a half head start on the PS3 and to give it time.

I am an average gamer. I just don't really like Nintendo's take on games. It seems to me that every thing Nintendo puts out has some sort of Mario or Pokemon spin to it. Sure I grew up on Mario, but after I discovered the superior gaming you get on a PlayStation I never looked back.
