Default HDTV with PS2?

I'm new to the whole HD thing and i'm having some problems adjusting my new tv. The TV is a 32" Olevia HD LCD TV that I've bought from Circuit City.

I do not have any cable or stuff like that and only recieve over the air broadcasting. Some channels are nice and clearer, not as clear as I've hoped though. But why are some channels more grainny looking compaired to non hd tvs?

Well, I'm trying ot get my ps2 hook up to this tv and the picture quality was way off. But how to adjust a PS2 so that the quality can be better?

It's set as a component. There's gotta be something better right? thanks.

For the channel issue. Signal strenght and antenna type is key. The bigger the antenna the better reception you will get. The non-hd ones are going to look like crap, mine do, everyone elses do as well. Its over the air, what do you expect? The HD over the air channels will usually look pretty good unless the signal strenght is lower than others. This is dependent on antenna size, location of the transmitting station, weather, and whether or not the antenna is inside or not.

For your PS2 issue, connect the component cables up, turn it all the way off.... turn it back on with the switch in the back, and hold the power button in for 5 seconds. i think that resets it so that you can reconfigure the settings.
