Golden Sun and Chrono Trigger

I had heard alot about this game called Chrono Trigger, which i have had on my computer for ever and didn't realize it. I just started playing it just now and had some insane deja vu. Anyone who has played that game and Golden Sun noticed that Golden Sun is a more elaborate rip off of Chrono Trigger?
I grew up playing Golden Sun when it came out cause my cousin recommended i buy it, and i still have it sitting just inches away from me now. (i still need to play the second one, to finish the story haha.) I was just amazed at the similarity. I am not far enough into Chrono Trigger to know if the story line is remotely the same, but so far many of the same elements are here, minus some added in Golden Sun as an intro, and with the Characters having slightly different roles.

i don't think so...the stories are completely different and the gameplay is a lot different...you run into random battles in golden sun and you can see the monsters in chrono trigger...graphics are completely different. Actually i wanna know wtf you found in common with these two games besides the fact that they are both rpg's??? lol!

edit: oh i didn't read that you weren't far enough into the game yet lol! just keep playing and you see why they are different...btw i wasn't trying to be a dick but now that i read it it sounds like i'm a fucking asshole so don't take offense k?

haha i wont, but the start and such of chrono reminds me very much of golden sun, almost as if they branched off from the same point. I am gonna play alotta chrono soon, so i am sure my view will change.
