Hm, well I have a CPU similar to that, and the game runs fine for me. Could you do me a favour and post the other specs for your PC (Graphics card, RAM, etc)? Also, what version of Windows are you running? I may be able to help you out better if I can get that info. from you.

Doesn't over clocking lead to higher temps, I woudln't over clock without atleast connecting one more fan, especially if he's gonna be playing for HOURS on end

if he's only overclocking a little he should be good. I overclock the hell out of my video card. Its an nvidia 6200 from XFX and they give you a lifetime warranty where they will replace it even if you melt the gpu. Thats why i had to get it from them.
Im sure intel doesnt do that, but if you need to overclock to meet game requirements it should do any harm.

How much RAM do you have and what kind of video card do you use? Also what happens when you try to load the game? Does it just lock up? Or do you get an error or something?

not ati, go for a nvidia card. They work with linux if you ever decide to try it out. And i just think nvidia is better in general.
