yo guys, i have a story, i have been with the ps3 for a long time, not owning one unfortunatly, but now my dad has given me a chance to get one. normally my dad always has a catch when it comes to this sort of thing. and this was an offer i couldnt refuse, all i have to do

is beat him in a chess game... im worried, I CANT LOSE

You have a cool dad. I would google around for a few tip&tricks on playing chess. Then play a few online games to test your skill on other people. Good Luck!

Good luck. I never think ahead enough... Don't focus on the move at hand, have 3-5 moves ahead planned out (or at least what you think they will be).

I don't quite remember how to do it but you put him into checkmate in like 5 moves but,most experienced players know when someones doing this.

you have no idea, he has played chess for 50 years, he never lies about this sort of thing either, he will get me a ps3 but i have to beat him for it, im scared just thinkin about it, i know he would buy me it eventually, but it wouldnt be soon, but now i can get it in a week, omg pressure build up, i am the king of games, though i didnt count board games,

Well all I can tell you is to practice.Try to practice with some good people or do an online game on the hardest difficulty.

well if you know you have no chance. go kamikaze style. take every piece you can. if he sets up to take your queen expecting you to move it out of danger. take his queen and sacrifice yours. obviously if he's been playing 50 yrs he knows most strategical moves and wont be fooled. but no one can predict reckless abandon.

I wonder if your dad is going to take a dive. Well corner his knights & bishops. One good trick is sacrifice your queen to checkmate the other person or to take out his queen. Download Chess Master.SMC and download a snes emulator and start playing it

well i am playing him in a lil bit, i need all the help i can get, for 3 to 400 dollas, i dont think he'll take a dive. i wonder if i have a chance, i have played the game all my life but still, im tournament liable, then again i could be. i must win
