PS3 Help PLZ

Hello, I hardly ever ask for help but this time Im truly stuck. I just bought a Ps3 from some guy and now it dont display on my standard TV, He said he set it to HD so he said he gonna set it back to standard. Is that true??

how could you buy a PS3 from "some guy" without verifying that it works first?

How much did you buy it for?

I know you can change the video output setting, but are you not getting any video out???

AndyCat makes a good point, did it ever display?
Because, I'm pretty sure if it's set to HD display, it'll still display, just not be in HD.
Use regular, non-hd a/v jacks, and plug it into your standard tv. You should be getting something.
And, just to be sure, make sure that the video plug is plugged in all the way into the tv, and that the cord is fully plugged into the PS3 as well. It might sound obvious, but you should check just to be safe.

Is it just the video, or is it not making noise as well? Maybe get new cords...

Ok thank you both for replying but I went to the guys house and he set the display setting for me now it works fine. The reason why it wasnt showing on my tv cause it was set to Progressive Scan and my TV doesnt have it.

Also, since I have to deal with this a lot, next time you have to switch your ps3 from an hd tv to a regular tv, follow these instructions.

1. Turn off Ps3.
2. When powering on, hold your finger on the power button for about 4-6 seconds until it beeps.

If you do that, it resets the ps3's settings and it will now work on your regular tv.
