Blu-ray less PS3

I didn't see any other threads about this so if there is one excuse me but this is interesting news I thought everyone would like to hear.

Sony is releasing a new SKU that costs $150 that doesn't play blu-ray discs but has an 80 GB hard drive. And in case you're wondering about games filling up that hard drive fast and running out of space, don't worry. Sony will keep a record of anything you buy off of the PlayStation Store so you can re-download it.

This seems like the perfect SKU for most people because mostly everyone with a PS3 doesn't have it hacked, buy there games anyway, and don't watch blu-ray movies. It'll also make it so PS3s become distributed more because of the low price.

Yeah they do, but since there is apparently going to be an "overhaul" of the PlayStation Store in April a lot of the games will be on there for download making it much easier to just download them than go to your local GameStop.

I saw this, but if it's real (btw, today is april fools day), they will be limited to smaller games, because Killzone 2, MGS4, and Resistance 2 are on dual-layer blu-rays, even if the "padded" files are removed, MGS4 even stated they used all 50GB, so these console owners would only have access to shitty store games.

I say it's a fake, the FCC changes are for Wifi/Bluetooth modules anyway.

Oh, thanks. For some reason I realized that the Custom Time on Gmail was fake the second I saw it but this somehow escaped me. Sorry guys, just trying to keep everyone up to date and forgot it was April Fool's day. Oh, I'm a fool. Anyways, thanks canadianbacon.

yea even if it was real, i have a 756kbps dsl, games would take days to DL
