Grand Theft Auto IV vs. Call of Duty 4

well the time has come and gone...its been a week and GTA4 already over 6 million copies in one week! i dont have the numbers for CoD4 but i know it sold a lot...last month it was claimed that the number one online game (PC, PSN, LIVE) was CoD4..on April 30th the number one game on Live! was GTA4...now here is a break down:

- GTA4 IS a single player game; CoD4 has this feature, but most people play online
- GTA4 just created online modes; CoD4 already had this
- according to IGN CoD4 is GOTY; GTA4 recieved a perfect 10 since 1998

i dont know its a tough choice, i may get fussed out but i will have to go with GTA4..i just like MP modes, very creative..plus i been a GTA fan all my life..dont get me wrong, it has its flaws, but the game overall makes sure that it elimates them...

Cod4 sucks, i dont know how it gets so much attention. IMO people that play COD4 suck in every other game, which is why they are stuck playing it. at least with the people i have met. but i choose GTA.

ps. halo3 beats both of them.

Playing GTA4 online is like playing socom but with tanks... Mmmm... I still prefer CoD4, fast paced, instant gratification.

its not retarded..i know one is opened-ended and FPS...thats not the point...its the same as comparing Halo to Madden..its not the TYPE of game..its which one you enjoy playing more..because if i said Halo 3 vs CoD4, most of you would pick CoD4

Its a simple thinking exercise.
On one corner we have the GTA4, a game thats been hyped up since its first bandwagon of hype rolled up. Every mother and son been looking forward to this, and even Jack Thompson none the less, but to compare it to a long running game of choice like CoD4 which in fact is a whole other ampitude of gameplay style kinda boggles the mind. It would be more on the playing field to relate it to Crackdown, or Saints Row.

You seem to be hinting at the playability of the two though. Regardless people will play both anyways. They are both their own kind of games. People chose to roll with at least one primarial game in one genre and stick with it. Like most would prefer to play CoD4 over Halo3, or instead of those two they would rather play Vegas2 etc, etc. /rant off.
