PS3 Switch Mod?

Has anybody tried to put a swap switch on their PS3? If yes explain how you did it and how well does it work because I'm think of doing the swap switch mod myself, but need some feedback from some people who has already done it.

I was seriously considering it, but my PS3 is much too valuable too me, and the only guides I can find aren't that good.

That's the tutorial I used and suceeded in making my switch mod. It was not very hard pretty simple actually. Now I can play ps2 and ps1 backups on my ps3. I want to try and backup a BD game and try it to see if it works but I dont have a BD burner. I'm pretty sure it will play backup BD games. Damn only if I had a BD burner.

i dont own a ps3 but this is pretty intresting, do you need a modchips or anything to get this to work? becuase i might buy a ps3 befor some new hardware revision omes out

All you need is a switch that can forward and reverse and a little soldering skills. By the way the switch is only like $2. It is well worth the effort if you know what you're doing.

is there a way to software mod a ps3 to play my ps1 and ps2 backups?
cause most games last 10 years in good conditions. and then the data literally
falls off the cd so it would be cool to play iso files off the hard drive or iso disc.

and btw ps3 blue-ray discs rock they're heat resistant, flexible and almost un-scratchable. PS3 is quality, 360 and its accessories are made of cheap garbage sold at a high price
