PS3 Steering Wheels... Recommendations?

Hey all, sorry I have not been around much, I'm currently studying for the Washington State Bar Exam, and that's taking a great deal of my time. In 3 weeks I will have taken the Exam, and will have even more time to play... My PSN ID is still the same, so drop me a line whenever you're online...

OK. What little time I have had, I've been playing GT5: Prologue. I love racing games. Always have, and have the original V steering wheel for the PS1 (used for the original GT). Along with the G25, what others are good to use with GT5 (along with, Grid and/or Burnout Paradise)? Any suggestions would be great!

the logitech g25 is the best steering wheel u could get so there really isnt a need for another one but since u asked, u could look at the GT5 Prolouge wheel.

Thanks, Carp! Yeah, I would prefer the G25, however, not sure I can talk the wife into that badboy... $300 is pretty steep... I remember seeing some Porsche steering wheel before, any comments on that one? Gizmodo commented on it, last year. Gaming: Porsche 911 PlayStation 3/PC Steering Wheel Would appear one of the commenters thinks it is a G25, just with Porsche insignias on it...?

Might just save up for the G25, since the full GT5 game isn't out, until next year (supposedly). Though, the $125 wheel is tempting...

i myself have a Logitech Driving Force Pro and it was like 94$ with shipping. it has 900* steering, force feedback, paddle shifters and a little sequential shift knob, butttttttt the feedback on it is stronger than most wheels (im pretty sure that the GT5 wheel is th same wheel as the driving force pro just with those 2 tuning knobs on it, but dont quote me on that) and it doesnt have a clucth of H pattern shifter like the g25. as far as that Porche wheel goes, i would agree that it looks just like a g25 with a porche logo and stuff, and its $50 more than the g25.



EDIT: i just noticed that u said that u also want to play other racig games like burnout and grid and personally i would rather play with a controller than wheel on arcade style drivers (not sure if grid is aracde or not but burnout is). my reason behind that is with the wheel you have to slam it side to side to get it to react in time. for example moving the analog stick all the way to the left would be turning the wheel 1 and a half times to the left (with 900* steering), and then u have to counter steer with the wheel so u have to throw it a full 2 rotations to the right instead of letting go of the stick and tapping it to the right.

That makes sense, on the arcade-type games... Probably wouldn't be much use for a game like Burnout, but like you said, not sure about Grid... Will look into that one.

GT5, maybe NASCAR would be the simulation racers, with everything else, generally speaking, being arcade? Fair estimate?
