Well, I'm glad that I got the 360 Elite. I could leave that thing on for hours and not have any problems.

You got ripped off dude. I bought a 360 off ebay and a couple weeks later it RROD'd me too. I registered the console's serial on xbox360.com but it said the 3 year warranty had expired. So during black friday sales, i bought a 360 with guitar hero 3 and a guitar as a bundle for $200.

EDIT: Turns out I wrong about that warranty, Microsoft will still fix 3 red ringed xboxes.

If It Only Happens When You Play For Ten Minutes - And Then Once Its Cooled The 360 Works Again - Your Not Experiencing The Actual RROD - Look At This Guide That Shows The Different Light Codes - Your Probably Just Getting The Overheating Error - You Can Normally Fix This Just By Cracking Open Your 360 - And Blowing All The Dust Out Of It With Compressed Air.

Heres The List Of Error Codes:

Xbox Family - 360 Error Code FAQ

Heres How To Open Your 360:

How to open/dissassemble a 360 case

Hope This Helps

Has nothing to do what model you have.

You just are lucky enough to not have any broken solder balls / GPU failure.

wow. we had it fixed and so we bought GH:WT and RB2 and then once we put in a hard drive so we can update and get xbox live....it started getting Red rings again. so we tightened the new screws we had put in, over heated to fix soldering....and now it still gets it.(we had been getting an error that when we looked at the code, it was a harddrive error then we started getting the 3RRoD
