ps3 question
ok so my ps3 has that yellow light of death thing, and i called sony and they said that they could fix it for $150. i then asked if after they fixed it did it come with any type of further warranty on it and they said that it will come with a 90 day warranty on it. my problem is that i dont mind payin the $150 but what if it breaks in like 91 days? then im out another $150.
so my problem is what should i do. should i just send it to sony and trust they no what they are doin or should i just buy a new ps3 for $400?
the thing is that the new ps3's only have 2 usb ports and mine has 4.
what should i do?
or if u no how to fix the yellow light of death please tell me
thanks |

Theres no way of fixing it..u either send it and live with the risk of getting the light again, or buy new ps3..80gb 428(w/tax)..if i had ur problem id probly fix send them my ps3 and fix it for 150..then sell it to somebody for about 300..then save up for a new ps3.So what if the new ps3 has only 2 ports?

Wow, is that how Sony deal with thier problems? The 360 might break down a lot more than the PS3, but atleast they will repair or replace for free on a three year warranty. |

ps3 question
Well, about 12 kids in my school have a functioning x360 out of about 100.
And in my area where i live i havent seen a single person with a non-functioning ps3.
Can u even believe my friend Chris' x360 literally BREAKS the cd's?
like this=http://www.philohome.com/hammerhead/broken-disk.jpg
My other friend jamie's x360 lasted 9 FN days after buying it brand new.
Since i've seen all of my other friends problems,i decided x360 isn't worth buying.

Well i have had mine 18 months and apart from not reading discs occasionally, it's fine. Several friends have them, and they are also fine. I guess your friends are rather unlucky.
Oh, and the 360 failure rate is now down to 16% say most independant reviewers. I can't find a level for the PS3 apart from Sony's claim themselves.
EDIT: To answer your question about exclusive games, well i don't really like FPS, so things like Resistance 2, Haze etc don't appeal, I don't get LittleBigPlanet at all, GT5P is still only a tiny game, what else is there? The only exclusive PS3 game that appeals to me is MGS4, but it's certainly not worth getting a console for.

the only real break in ps3s were a few when it first came out,and when 2.40 was released, whitch hit worldwide so they fixed all those for free.other than that it never breaks down and bluray discs are practically indestructable unless of course your trying to break it |

why won't sony fix it for free? I had the same problem and they fixed it 100% free they even payed for my shipping. you throw away your receipt? the only reason I can think of why you'd have to pay. heck if it cost that much you're better off just getting one of those new bundle packs with a 160 gig hardrive, a game and a rumble controler.

Sony wont fix it for free because their failure rate is like 1% or something, as opposed to the 30% of the 360. The warranty is one full year, which is the norm for electronics. People assume that just because Ms made a shitty console and extended their warranty that companies that make quality products need to extend their warranty to match. If MS actually engineered their console and put in a darn heatsink and got their failure rate to match Sony's nobody would be complaining that one of a hundred failed and needed $150 to get it fixed. MS set a bad example for the industry and im glad sony isnt following in their footsteps.
