Ugh, I'm seriously doubting Vista now. I can't sync my iPod cos iTunes keeps crashing the computer, only prob is, I can't go back to XP without losing data

WINDOWZ--->Vi$ta is Micro$oft's way of boxing us in damnit..... I shouldn't HAVE to have it installed only because my hardware ONLY has vi$ta drivers. Bullshit.

MaK--->As a gamer and custom system builder (HARD & SOFT)....RIGHT CLICK, and interchangeable hardware with OR without the need for software integration.

Linux---> I have Drivers and Software for my computer...... I shouldnt need my computer to write drivers and software to USE the damn thing. I have more important things to do..... Gates ruined open source for us A LONG TIME AGO! Give it up.

I got a WindowZ rig as my choice of the lesser of *three evils.

I really don't care what anyone says, I like Vista, it's easy to use. I hate Macs because everyone who owns one is a pretentious asshole with their stickers and too much money and crap. ( want a car sticker with the classic windows logo on it) I also have Ubuntu installed on my PC, and it's easy to use, but if you want to run anything you'll have to learn a lot.

the truth is MAC is a solid system, but its price and lack of programs block many consumers from it, as for Linux its a good OS, but its one that you will have to learn to use, and for many people who already know so little about computers that's not an option

Windows 7 is easily my favorite Windows OS.

But Mac OSX completely pwns Windows.

Linux is for the techy people, as I only use for things that OSX and Windows cannot do.

Vista SP2 is not bad at all. I loved the Windows 7 RC as well!

I like all the windows systems aside from their small, yet incredibly annoying problems, recently tried out ubuntu and found that I like it a lot, has a lot of cool stuff on it

Please, elaborate on such problems, I've run windows xp since it came out and I have no problems.

If you have a problem googling it almost always finds you an answer, no OS is problem free, it's the way things go, Windows is the most used OS there is, doesn't matter if you like it or not, Windows is coming out with 7 which will probably be as stable as XP with all the extra stuff Vista added.

well despite my love of vista the first that instantly comes to mind is its permission pop ups that come up every two minutes when installing

Windows is the most popular. I think what killer meant was that, to an average, everyday consumer, Mac OSX is more popular than Linux. Although in reality, as in number of users, Linux is much more popular than OSX. I would say that if you're going to ditch Windows, and you want to a user-friendly Linux, use *drumroll for the most cliche answer* Ubuntu. If you want even MORE user friendliness, install Linux Mint, which is Ubuntu with a slightly different look and comes with codecs pre-installed (flash player, audio/video codecs, etc). If you stick with Ubuntu, you have 2 main choices for interface: KDE and Gnome. KDE is more like Windows (with one bar on the bottom, start button). Gnome is more like Mac, with 2 bars, one on top and one on bottom (but you can remove or add bars). Gnome is the more popular choice. All apps will run in either interface.

I refuse to do any unofficial edits on principle, I know it sounds stupid, but my opinion is if its that easy to fix then they should do it for me, but yes I do know that I can remove it

Not remove, disable. It's not unofficial. It's an option.
