Default Best OS?

Windows XP Hands Down.

Shouldn't we include a small reason?

Best compatibility for almost all programs.

EDIT: My bad, I didn't read first post, Mac then Linux has bad compatibility

I haven't tried Windows 7 yet, but so far i'd have to say Windows XP. Windows XP has great compatibility, and is good for modding PSPs. Linux is good for programming, and also to play with the wobbly windows on Linux Ubuntu. Linux can also be modified easily. Mac OSX is good if you want to make a movie, nuff said. I'd have to say Windows XP > Linux > Windows 7 > Vista > Mac OSX, would be my list from best to not as useful to me. There is only one problem with Windows:

/!\ Warning, virus detected!

If you're careful enough, you should seldom see that message. There are general rules to follow; ie: legitimate porn sites shouldn't require you to install "pornoplayer.exe" to watch their videos.

The best OS is the one that can do anything I want it to do. It does not exist yet.

Seriously... the best OS for anyone is the one that meets their requirements, the one that can do what they need their computer to do. It's way to subjective to work any other way.

Really the point is, you can buy a PC and install Windows, OS X, and various Linux distros (triple boot baby) and use whatever you need. With OSes the old saying "Jack of all trades master of none" applies. So basically, suck it the fuck up and use what ya got... they all have problems.

I'm a huge Windows fan, never had a single problem with it.

Windows 3.1 best version ever.

100% of viruses today on the internet, in all those adds are programmed for Windows. Windows Vista, Windows XP etc. I bet they are already making them for windows 7 too, doubt it though. But anything is possible. 100% of THOSE viruses will not touch Linux. Trust me, my brother runs it.
They run so well off windows, because of windows lets executable programs go. And it'll show up under processes. Linux, does not work that way. Therefore, 99.9% of viruses fail to do anything on a Linus OS computer.

People who say Macs are better obviously have no real use for a computer, so they get one that looks nice and never check 'under the hood'.

Not true, 100% of viruses will not touch Linux is completely false, there are viruses that are universal, and yes you can get viruses on Linux.

And no those programs won't run if you get a decent av and block them.
