ps3 custom firmware?
hey guys just wondering, having custom firmware on a psp is all good but wouldnt it also be cool for custom firmware on a ps3. the ps3 can have linux on so would there be anyway of getting the original operationg system and messing around with it to get a custom firmware that could do much much more. we all know the ps3's browser sucks so if there was a way of modifying the os and having a full time java enviroment maybe even a full firefox browser would be nice which would make the ps3 much more wrth the money we could even put homebrew games on, who knowshow far modders and hackers can go, just curious anyways give ur ideas pleaseee and is there anyway too |

The PS3 will never, ever have custom firmware. End Of.
I know your next reply will be 'why not'. My answer is simply 'security and encryption'. It ain't happening. |

ps3 custom firmware?
I am curious about this also, in theory could we have a 5.00 m33-6 for the ps3 so we can do everything on the ps3 we do on the psp.
However, i am sure were not the 1st 2 people in the world to think of this and as ive never heard of anything, its likely to be not possible as the ps3 doesnt have a service mode or removable battery lol |

It's not a hack or an exploit to be able to install another OS on the PS3. |

I advise you to read this: Linux on the PlayStation 3 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Also, running things through Linux and your original point of CFW are very different. |
