Customizing my 360
Well I had to order a new laser for my drive so I figured while I have it apart I should do something. I wanted to take a break from 3-d modeling anyway so I decided to customize the 360, I cut the window out and Im using real glass, I also cut out the drive so you will be able to see the disc spinning. I want to stick true to the 360 colors so Im going to paint it artic white with a low-density emerald green flake, and Im painting the dvd drive and fan duct emerald green. I have some green leds Im going to use to light it up with. Hers some pics, I will update when I get it painted, I had to order the paint from my local r/c hobby shop. I did some sanding, priming and wet sanding, just waiting on paint. So I can paint, sand, wet sand, paint, then clear it.

That's pretty cool. I was thinking about doing something like that, except I want to buy a new case instead of cut a window in my old one, and replace the green ring of light with a red one.

that looks nice. I never got that far into case modding, only painting my orig. Xbox white and changing the on/off button LED's to purple.
How do you cut the case? With a dremel? If so, how do you make the straight cuts on the case, and the curved cuts on the drive? Do you do it freehand or use a template? |

The disc drive I used a clear cd that came with a pack of disc I bought I gues it was just in the to protect the disc on the bottom of the stack I centered it up on the drive and traced around it with a sharpie, then once again slowly work my way around with the cutting wheel on the dremel, after that I removed all the burrs around with a sanding bit the cleaned it all up with a wire brush wheel bit.
