Hacking the DS or DSi?

Hey guys i know this is pspmod.
But so far i havent found any good DS sites.
I heard there are many ways to hack it, but is there a way i dont need a flash cart? like a cable i can make or a wifi trick or some thing?
Or should i buy another PSP and turn my old one into a Dev unit.

Please help. it's my birthday tomorow "6 nov" and i got some cash to spend so i'm planning on what to buy.

For DS Lite and Fat you need R4, M3 DS Real or any of the like.
DSi, you need Acekard 2i

Or, if you have both (or have a Lite and planning for a DSi) get the Acekard 2i, it works on DS Lite and DSi.

acekard 2i works on all ds's not just the lite and dsi...

Yeah but don't update your DSi's firmware otherwise there is no way to hack it.

well there is no point in hacking it without a card, because all the storage is on the card and you cant play homebrew with out storage

It sucks but you need a flash card to hack it. Acekard 2i is the way to go if you want complete compatibility and quick updates. Use it a on Lite though--don't waste your money on a DSi. Some games (Idolmaster, probably others) can play on a US DS Lite but not a DSi because of optional DSi features that require the game to be region locked. Of course there's also the shorter battery life, and all the FW updates...
