If you still wanna know, you basically pick up some weapons (greatswods, hammers, bowguns, and sword and shield). Then you swing it at the monster until it dies. Each weapon has its special moveset. You needa go through missions multiple times if you want the best equipment and there's one boss where it doesn't matter what you have, he has a move that's guaranteed one hit kill so you need to learn how to dodge attacks very well.

monster hunter...one of the reasons i got my PSP in the first place (the second one would be Castlevania PSP).
played MH on ps2 and it was like hell....thank god for PSP ad-hoc capabilities (multiplayer baby!) now i have 2 more hunters to support me in the guild quests.as long as you have the patience & someone to help you along the way MHF is a fun game to play. ~Recomended~

play through the single player quest to get the hang of controls/camera & basic survival skills.then find someone to join you and play through the guild quest (a bit harder than single player but gives better rewards) upgrade equipment...rinse & repeat.oh and its not the typical hack & slash concept...you need to know how to use the enviroment to your advantage + a bit of player strategy to overcome the missions.
i have 2 blademasters + one gunner in my team for most of the missions.but we change it accordingly to suit our needs.

[hoping MH2nd Eng. comes out quick]

p.s: One Hit Kill?! <---- it's The Fatalis!!
