I heard that the limit was 8gb. Just wondering, is there a limit to custom firmware? I saw from the Neoteam that there was a mod for the psp converters to support up to 32gb.

I can't post the link because I haven't been around here long. Says I need to have 15 posts...

the limit on the psp at the moment is unknown
it's said that it has a limit of 8g because that the biggest memory stick you can get.
but if the neoteam have a mod then that awesome.

the top known limit is 32gb of memory, but thats the maximum possible storage for a memory stick for now. With the open editions i am sure its possible to have it see the 32gb stick but you won't be able to afford it though.

    Open editions? what's that?

Still, if you could put that much on a psp, there'd be no worry about running out of space.

Were talkin about the mem sticks not the Hdd support that can be added when modding. In mem stick the highest is 32gb and for hdd's its up to like 1 tera.

hdd support? You mean having an external hd and a memory stick and having to transfer stuff from hd to memory stick? That's a little tedious though.

its not the tedious part that worries me, its the weight of the unit and the powering of the hdd which makes the whole thing worthless. You could have it set in the car with a adapter to focus the voltage into the hdd but you could only run it while the car was on. an actual way of walking around with the hdd is out of the question and wouldn't be exactly mobile. With nanotechnology on the rise i am sure this could be possible in the next 5 to 10 years having something tiny as a memory stick with 64gb of space and very cheap.
