Computer can connect yet PSP doesnt.

Took my psp to work and found an unsecure network. Raged from 24-40%. Tried to establish a connection but kept getting an error. Told me to check the security setting and try again.
My coworker brought his laptop in as well. Found the same network and successfully connected to it.

What gives?

perhaps its because the wireless network at your work is a G-wireless where-as the PSP uses B-Wireless (an older form). Normally G-wireless routers are backwards compatible so that B-wireless products can connect as well, but an administrator might have disabled this. I know when i disabled it at home, I got the same error message.

you enter the routers set up page, see what setting its broadcasting in, and change it if necessary.

#1. determine the ip address for your router
A. on your computer hooked to the router, click the start menu and type 'cmd' in the search box... this will open up a black dos window.
B. type in 'ipconfig /all'
this will show you all the settings. more then likely, your routers ip address is 192.168.2.1.
C. open the internet browser on the pc, and type in the ip in the addy bar.
This will take you to the router set up page... click 'wireless' and see what you have... and if this isnt what your question is, then FOO
