my psp hangs

my psp hangs . some times it works for 5 Sec's other times it just starts and thats it. and even if i go to recovery menu some times it hangs in there also.
is it a software prob or hardware ?
if i it a software prob how can i solve it if it hang and i cant continu to do any thing ?

ok ..first of all the infos that u provided not enuff..are u runnig custom firmwire ? what version ? ..and first i would try a different memory card..if that goes good try to downgrade to 1.5 and then upgrade to any CFW ..i prefer 3.40 oe-a ..also try to re download the downgrade / custom firmwire again

ok .. its runnig custom firm ware 2.71 se comething ..
and i dod not try another card. but when i remmove the card the same problem is there., it hangs .
and how can i downgrade it or even upgrade it if it hangs all the time ?
