    i emailed sony asking them about the new psp slim and heres what i got back:

    Hi Braeden,

    Thank you for writing us.

    On July 11, 2007, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) announced the availability of the
    PSP(R) portable entertainment system model number PSP-2001 along with three new PSP packs to be
    released Fall 2007.

    The PSP-2001 model has a more streamline form factor, than the PSP-1001 series. In addition, a new
    and unique feature of the PSP-2001 will be the video-out port which allows users to connect and play
    the PSP system on a display or television with AV inputs.

    The PSP(R) Core Pack: With a suggested retail price of $169.99, this pack will include:

    - A "Piano Black" PSP(R) System
    - AC Adaptor
    - Battery Pack

    The Daxter(TM) Entertainment Pack: With a suggested retail price of $199.99, this pack will
    include:

    - An "Ice Silver" PSP(R) System
    - AC Adaptor
    - Battery Pack (only fits PSP-2001)
    - Memory Stick PRO Duo(TM) (1GB)
    - Daxter(TM) (PSP(R) game)
    - Family Guy(TM): The Freakin' Sweet Collection (UMD)

    The Star Wars Battlefront(R) Entertainment Pack: With a suggested retail price of $199.99, this
    pack will include:

    - A "Ceramic White" PSP(R) System with Darth Vader Silkscreen on the unit.
    - AC Adaptor
    - Battery Pack (only fits PSP-2001)
    - Memory Stick PRO Duo(TM) (2GB)
    - Star Wars Battlefront(R): Renegade Squadron(TM). (PSP(R) game)

    ok im taking a guesse thats sarcasm. now im just trying to be helpful to other people so they dont have too search through posts trying to find things. Guys like u : "phantomghost". are what make forums stupid.

    i spent hours looking for info on the new psp's so this pretty much includes it all.

    geez 169.99 is pretty cheap for sony... even 199.99 with all that crap, i expected the new psp to be like 250.00

    ya so did i..its gonna be a bit more for me since im in canada but ya...ive got 700 to spend so no worries.



    im just gonna get the piano black. id rather not have any markings of star wars, etc on my psp

    well at least im not the one who posted the garbage thread which was by the way useless. beginer's right we have too much shit on the slim and that " info" is all over the internet.

    i dunno, the "Ice Silver" definitely has the coolest name so i guess if i could get one id go with that. But actually that sounds like the best deal too, as long as they're moddable.

    probably wont, but its a great deal for some amazing games! Im probably just gunna get without homebrew, but if it can be enabled im definitely modding it.

    they said that this psp slim will not be hackable...

    isnt that what they said about the first psp?

    when will they learn: if someone has a deliberation to hack it, not matter how unhackable they think it may be. IT WILL BE HACKED!

    so its just a matter of time....

    could someone please explain to me the point of installing homebrew. im just confused cause ive never had a psp so......ya....

    See, the first PSP evolution, the security to homebrew was easily found by just downgrading to firmware 1.50. Now, Sony is aware of homebrew and is putting mor security on each firmware update. It will be very hard to mod, but if theres a will theres a way u know.
