    PSPMod users,

Hey there, I've got a question for your people about the psp slim's battery life. How long does it last on average, if you were to play movies/mp3s off the memory stick, and not UMD? Or is there no difference?

I'm considering on a PSP Slim, not for games as a core function, but more as a media tool such as songs, movies (Especially when I'm at a hotel and I can plug it to the TV), and net surfing on the go. After all these priorities, then comes the ability to play games(I find that I'm growing too old to play any one game properly and thoroughly. I keep quitting on them half way through).

Some of you may suggest that I get something else like to do these media functions, but to me, if I'm going to pay 120 USD for an IPod, I may as well just pay 169 USD for something that does everything in one.

So, yes, how is the battery life, assuming I'm using a standard battery for the purposes that I mentioned?

Of course, having said all that, if you think my reasons for getting a PSP is utterly nonsense and impractical or you have a better suggestion to suit my needs, please let me know. Remember to think about the price of what you're about to suggest, if any.

    Thanks in advance,
    Cheers.

    I get 4-5 hours!

    Video/game/any function really!

and if nothing else bring the cord with you.

And at walmart you can get the car charge for $20 with a case!

not to mention it will run with the charger plugged in.

    But....

    You will need to buy

PSP: $181.00 - Walmart after tax
    Case/Charger/USB Cables: $20.00 - Walmart before tax
Video Cable: $3.00 at PSP AV Cable Cord at Vavolo.com
Memory Card - $50.00 2GB sandisk pro duo before tax

    Grand Total: $254.00

    Dear acer5050,

Why do you pay so much for a 2 GB? At newegg.com, you can get a 4 GB Sandisk for a mere 55 USD. Also, why do you choose to pay the unnecessary taxes when you can get them online? :P (Just a random thought. I'm definitely not going to pay 10 USD for taxes, I'm cheap like that. )

Having said that, it's sad and interesting at the same time that even MP3 playback uses just as much power as though you were playing a game.

    Cheers.

    Dear acer5050,

Poor you, now you know the true nature of Wal-Mart. They're not improving your life by providing cheaper goods, they're improving their stockholder's lives by ripping you off!

    Cheers.

    Dear poison,

If you try and avoid taxes by ordering online, you then run into the problem of paying for shipping and handling.

    Have fun with that.

    Dear jefjefjef,

It's not too bad especially with free shipping all over the net. The internet is a vast place, you just need to know where to look to make use of things.

    Cheers.

yea, I get 4-6 hrs of use from one charge playing games from the memory stick... lowering the screen brightness really stretches the battery life.
