No doubt this is in the wrong place - ah well... Mr Mod please move to the appropriate place

The slim as we know will play games through the 3 head av cable but not cfw.

I have no idea why this is. After all the PS2 would play games through the av 3 head cable.

Believe m, if M33 or some genius could come up with a way of playing cfw/homebrew/games etc through a regular 3 head cable on a regular widescreen tv, they would make the slims fly off the shelves.

Can anyone PLEASE do this as I am not and not likely to be, the owner of a fabulous HD tv
With my trusty PSP, it is quite likely that I will now take over Europe then have plans to slowly, but surely take the rest of the world piece by piece - thanks to DAX of course.

(I already replied to this but I don't know what happened to my original reply)

You can't play games on slim through a tv with the 3 head av cable at all, whether custom firmware or original firmware. It simply is not possible. You need the component output (HD) to play games on your tv. Read the manual if you don't believe me.

That being said, it's probably not possible to even hack this because the slim might only output games DIGITALLY.(the 3 head is an analog signal). If anyone knows this for sure let me know, because this is speculation.

    HERE'S AN UPDATE

After reading this discussion I decided to do a little research, and I found out that DAX had started working on this problem in October, and even posted proof of concept. But that's about as far as it went. After experimenting, he found that using his hack the tv out function slowed games down to 2 and 3 fps, and then scrapped the project. From what I read it does seem to be a hardware issue so it looks highly unlikely that THIS GENERATION of PSP will be able to use the tv out with the majority of homebrew. I won't bore you with the rest of the details, but I can't post a URL yet, so PM if you would like the link to the forum.
