On the LCD bracket, underneath the analog stick, is a tiny rectangular transparent silicon block that has mtal contacts running through it. This connects the copper contacts from the analog stick to the contacts on the motherboard...
Hee's the million dollar question...where can I find another one of these tiny silicon thingy's as I've lost mine??!

Oh well, just google "internal rubber contact psp" and you'll find a Uk site selling original stuff.
