Hi all, my brother got bored of his PSP and I've started playing it. It has version 4.05. From what I understand, I need a pandora's battery to install a custom firmware. So my basic question is, does this work as a pandora's battery:

? Or will it only let me boot files off of the memory stick while the service tool is being used?

    That will work.
    Google.com - Man's best friend.
Prizerebel.com - Free shit. It works. Received $183.864 worth of prizes so far.

how would you hardmod a PSP? I can't make my own pandora battery due to the fact none of my friends have a homebrew PSP.

Also, if I bought that, should I just run applications off of the memory stick, or should I install the custom firmware?

I don't really want to mess around with possibly breaking a battery, so will it work if I use the installer .cso and the datel battery?

The datel tool battery will work, but you won't be able to use the .cso mms maker from official firmware - You'll need to use a MMS maker from your PC. You on XP or Vista?
If you see me running, try to keep up.

You should be fine just go with soft modding, I found that to be best.

YOU CAN'T SOFTMOD A BATTERY FROM OFFICIAL FIRMWARE.

...Honestly, how hard is that to understand? If you guys spent more time reading and less time post-whoring you'd realize that.
