[PSP Plugin] Hold.prx Hold+ v3.6
How to install and use Hold+ v3.6 plugin for CFW PSP. Works on slim and phat psp and can extend your battery power while using and playing music for about 12 hours of playback, when you lock the psp with the hold switch, the plugin activates, turning off the screen,(backlit)and underclocking your psp cpu from 222mhz to 60mhz, making it consume just enough to play the music, and when you need to change tracks or so, you can do so pressing SELECT with the button you want (SELECT combos) while on hold, when you release the hold switch, don't worry about putting the psp on sleep by mistake, the plugin will avoid this mistake...and the psp comes to normal when you unlock the hold switch...It even turns off the power led and the memstick led to save more power, (the power led blinks every 30 secs to avoid the mistake of thinking that the psp is turned off) plus comes with fast music list scrolling: scroll up to 300 songs in less than 3 seconds...
Download
Easy installation, just Download, run and follow the instructions in the window. If you have more plugins, you'll have to add the line
ms0:/seplugins/hold.prx
manually in the VSH.txt file and hit "no to all" when the installer asks you for replace...
Cheers! enjoy, this plugin has become one of my favorites.
I just dled this plugin. I love it.

Wow. Looks Nice. I think I am going to download it.
ahh thanks for the link man...i need this on my PSP
it will definitely save my batt. while listening to music on my long commute to work (battery power is far more important to be used on gaming)
cheers!

I like this plugin, but what saves more battery?
Switching it to hold while using this program and not listening to music
or
just putting it to sleep.
Thanks.
i think its basically the same/little diference...
as when you put the psp on hold it turns off the backlight (and seeing that you're not playing any music it wont matter if the PSP processor is clocked to 60mhz or 333mhz.the only thing eating up the battery would be the blinking led every 30sec. which i doubt would drain your battery flat
whereas in sleep it turns off the backlight and halts all PSP functions but the battery is still running in the background so you are booting direct to xmb afterward (and not starting up from coldboot).think of it like putting your laptop into standby....
thats my take on it...unless another member has a better explaination LOL![]()

I don't quite understand why you would use this plugin to not listen to music, listening to music is exactly what it's designed for. Hold+ and sleep mode are very different things. the PSP is still running while Hold+ is active. On the other hand, while "sleeping", the PSP is basically turned off, but it still is drawing an extremely small amount of power in order to retain the contents of the RAM.
Even if you're not listening to music while Hold+ is active, the CPU is still active and still drawing power. It is never 0% utilized while running (but still draws a lot less power at 60 MHz than it would at 222 MHz). As such, putting the PSP into sleep mode will always beat Hold+ in the simple ability to save power, but Hold+ is still perfect for saving battery power while listening to music.
