Alright, so I was playing Digimon World 2 (c'mon I love the first generation of digimon) and I saved it and went to look up my stats. I have my battery out and the power cable plugged in and have had various issues with the cable such as moving it at a certain angle and the connection is lost or the game freezes.

So that happens and my game freezes. I was already 2 minutes past the time that I saved. I wait for my PSP to power itself down, then I turn it back on. The screen flashes the frozes screen and boots to the XMB. I load up the game again and then it says that I have no save data. I press HOME and check my memory card and there's nothing there either.

I PSP -> USB and open up my SAVEDATA folder. There's SLUS01193 (this is correct) with the same files in it as before (CONFIG.BIN, ICON0.PNG, PARAM.SFO, SCEVMC0.VMP, and SCEVMC1.VMP). I had all these files before as well.

But there's another folder, I renamed it already and tried to get the save to work but no success. It was named something like _MOD_************
where the * are numbers. There WAS NO 01193 in it. It too had all the files as the original folder except it was missing the CONFIG.BIN. So I copied the original CONFIG.BIN to the "new folder" and thought that maybe this might work. So I renamed it to SLUS01193, put it in my SAVEDATA folder and turned on my PSP. I checked the save data area and there was no icon. I booted up Digimon World 2 and it would get past the Sony screen, but then reboot to the XMB with error 80020001 or something. Never seen the error code before.

It seems weird how my save got corrupted. I'm SURE that the PSP froze because of my cable. I've tested the cable out where I let the PSP stay in the XMB while I fiddled around with the cable and it would freeze.

Anyways, long story short, is there no way to recover my save data? I still have the original save folder/files along with the other folder.

PSP Phat 5.00 M33-4 + 1.50 kernel
*Official* Sony 4gig MSProDuo
Plugins active: cwcheat, cwcheatpops, popsloader.
*I was NOT using any cheats at the time.*
