That will be hackable, yes. The only ones not hackable are PSP2000 series that ship with official firmware 4.01 and PSP 3000 models.

Hello, for the past 4 hours I've been trying to figure out if my slim psp is hackable. I've read through forums, and found a few useful guides, but when I checked them with the info on my psp, nothing matches. I have no idea what motherboard is in it.
The firmware on my psp is v 3.71
The serial on the psp: AB00
Its a PSP-2001PB
The serial number on the box just show AB00
I didnt see any date code, or anything to identify behind the battery.
Any help will be most appreciated.
The Dude.

Thank you!
My next guess, is that the best method would be with the Pandora's battery, than use a CFW. Ill end up ordering one, the battery in it is a 3.6 volt 1200. Every video and forum I've seen they are using a 1800. Any tips would help.
Some slim battery's are pandorable (check wikipedia) I would recommend just buying unless you have a friend with a cfw psp. If you do check my links.

After using the Pandora's method, and installing the CFW. Do you have to leave pandora's battery in or can you just put in the manufactured battery?

I have a few more questions, Im still waiting the arrival of my pandora battery, and Ive just been browsing thru the forums and a few things came to mind. Currently I have a 1g stick and soon Im gonna pick up a 16g, do they need to be sony's brand or will any particular card work, and will the 16g need to be MMS as well to load iso's and all the other fun stuff? I also went ahead and downloaded a few torrents, none were specified or any particular CFW, so I was wondering if the most up to date CFW would run any of them, other than acouple games you had to turn off plug-ins or put a cmd to use to load off of. And if anyone could tell me whats the most reliable CFW to install to the psp? I thank everyone at pspmod for there help, Im sure I will have more questions in the distant future.
The Dude
Once you have Custom firmware you no longer need a magic memory stick, so any will work yes, as long as it isn't fake.
I have the CR5400 and two 8gb micro sd cards. I like this because I can upgrade the memory and use the micro sd cards in other things around the house also they make alot of different adapoters for micro sd cards to work in everything. I like the fact that I can accuss the recovery menu easier with 5.00GEN-a(get push selectand go down to recovery menu) then with 5.00m33-6

MMS is a short term for Memory Stick Duo (sony/sandisk brand is fine)
The current 5.00M33 CFW works well and you can play all CSO/ISO.
and if you want homebrew an optional 1.5 kernel upgrade is also available.
there are threads about running homebrew and other stuff in here.
or you can also google up the info.
if you have any further questions dont be afraid to ask.we are always glad to help.

Actually Nexus, he has a PSP-2000 so the 1.5 kernel won't work. You will have to use this application called eLoader. It's basically an application that replaces the need for a 1.5 kernel. When you start it a menu will pop up and from there you pick which homebrew you want to run.
Link for you: eLoader v1.000 - Run 1.50 Kernel Homebrew On PSP Slim - eXophase.com Forums
(Who's internet ninja now?)

So not having to make any other magic memory stick once the custom firmware is installed, the folder directories that you need to name you just create yourself? Such as ISO, somewhere I saw X:ISO. Didnt know if there was a certain install you need to make on the memory stick for any application for the CFW. You you just create the root directories yourself?
Oh hehe, could any of you post whats recommended to have once the CFW is installed. Like starfox said "eloader v1.0", or any other applications or loaders? Gotta love noobs, I just like to be prepared lol. First portable device I got to mod and play with, so Im in a whole new world.
