PSP doesnt charge

Sorry if its the wrong place for this post!

Yesterday i tried a different charger. It was one of those chargers you can change voltage and polarity (stupid thing, i know.) Anyways, i think it screwed my PSP's plug cuz now it wont charge or turn on with just the charger plugged in. What could I do ? Something rather than getting a new one, which is not an option, or sending it to a video game repair store, which would be my LAAAAAST option. Also, if i do the usb charge mod, I know im supposed to connect the plug and the usb, would it work even if it the plug is dead?

im guessing you have a Phat PSP?
i think you blew a fuse when you used that charger.take a look in here....maybe you can find something that will help;

if you still cant find the answer id recommend sending it to the shops,they have the parts & the tools to get it done.

more than likely you blew your fuse and can either bridge it after you test it
to see if it is actually blown if so

replace which will protect you it is a surface mount fuse
you can ask here to see if they have what you need

bridge which will remove the protection for the mobo but if you use sony approve chargers should be ok
