should i keep my psp 3000, trade, or get another psp - (2000model, of course)

well, i came up on a psp3000 from trading an old camcorder... when i had gotten it i did not know it was a 3000 til' i was looking up the specs on what i needed to mod it w/ the latest cfw and whatnot.. thats when i found out..

its in super great condition, brand new.. basically. only 1 1/2 weeks old..

anyways, i don't know if i should just trade the 3000 for a 2000 that is hopefully in the same condition, cosmetically and internally.

i was thinking not to, cus' i found a psp1000 for $50. thing is, it doesn't read umd discs.. but i found a site where i can purchase a psp1000 umd disc laser unit for $16.99 on this website. this is the exact model name, and number.

i've never messed around w/ the psp's hardware or opened one up, but i'm good w/ tweaking things around, and fixing broken hardware externally, and internally (soldering, etc.)

anyways, this is my question... should i trade my 3000 for a 2000 and just have that modded?... or get the $50 psp1000, replace the umd laser unit - depending on how hard it is, and possibly replace the outer case - if scratched.. and have that modded?...

the reason why i'm questioning this decision is because so many people are telling me to just wait, just wait.. someone will come out w/ a mod for the 3000, but its taking so long... yah know? and reason why i might be down to wait is cus' i came up on a good deal w/ the 3000 and trading for the 2000 seems like a downgrade to me... even though theres not much difference. (glare-free screen, built in mic, and thats basically it...)

--- keep psp3000, buy $50 psp1000 - install new umd laser unit - mod it
--- trade psp3000 for psp2000 - mod it

if anyone has a psp2000 they'd like to trade for a brand new psp3000 let me know! it has to be silver, or white.

do not attempt to replace a umd in a phat unless you have a lot of time on your hands, and make sure to color the screws with a sharpie to coordinate their place, trust me it will help, also if you still have 5.02 on the 3000 look for the King on this website and in his signature are the files for the gripshift exploit.
