Whenever I transfer small files over my USB cord, it works fine. But whenever I transfer large files (upwards of 20 megs), it sometimes fails. For example, the first time I tried to transfer 371.PBP so I could make a MMS, it failed. I turned off USB charging, and it seems to fail less now, but still fails sometimes. Is this a firmware problem, or do you think it might be a computer problem? Thanks!

Also, my battery says it's 100% charged, but when I take the charge cord out (tried both USB and AC), it drops like a rock. It drops to 90%, then 81%, then gravitates around 70% (Which is better than before, so I'm going to let it charge overnight and see if it fixes it. I think it's just not charging fully because it's been in storage for a while.) Do you think this is a good idea?

I tried opening up the battery, because... welll... I don't really know. Anyway~ I opened it up, and I noticed it doesn't look anything like the battery pics you guys have on here.
It says on the cover:
3.6v
1200mAh
BATTERY PACK
It does NOT, however, say Sony.
Is this a third party battery? >:| I got my PSP used from gamestop, and the battery was included.
I'll be posting pictures in a second.
EDIT: Pictures!
EDIT: Yeah, mine definitely doesn't look like this one:
Gamestop.com - Buy PSP Slim Battery Pack - Sony PSP
Too bad I opened it, I could have returned it.
EDIT 2: I figured out the problem. Apparently my USB isn't getting enough power to charge and transfer at the same time. I turned off "USB Charge" and used an AC adaptor with the USB cord, and now it works fine ^^
EDIT 3: Seems the above revelation with the USB charging was NOT the problem! The problem is USB 2.0!
Amazon.com: PSP USB Data Cable: Sony PSP: Video GamesSo, here's how it all REALLY works: USB 2.0 enhanced ports (standard issue these days) WILL lose a file transfer and ultimately not recognize the PSP unless you first disable the USB-PCI bridge (labeled by Windows as "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Control" in the Device Manager window). Once you've done that, the problems disappear, though you are limited to the slower USB 1.0 transfer speeds, which can be an irritant.
