hey i want a psp, what version is best for me to put custom firmware on, which custom firmware do you recommend? I would like to play backup games, when i have custom firmware do i just put the game file straight onto the memory stick. And it should work. should i get a fat slim and light or a 3000

a slim version 1 or 2 only. plus the best firmware is the one which works for you best. for me, its 5.50gend2. it allows you to play undecrypted games that require the firmwares 5.55 and above without worry. ^^

Psp fat for customization, 100% hackable. 2k's you have to get specific ones like Silver, some bundles like GoW, or find one that came with ofw 4.02 or lower iirc. 3k's... Don't even consider one if you're thinking of hacking.

As for cfw i'd recommend 5.00m33-6. Not trying to start a which cfw is better, but it'll play your backed up games (Aside from games that require 5.50+), Emulators and Homebrews without a problem. For this i'd do a search on the forums or google and see what people have already said. There are Plenty of threads that compare each cfw.

As for putting backed up games on your stick, after ripping the image from your Umd, the iso goes straight to your ISO folder in the root of your MS.

Psx games go into their own folder inside your game folder, Ms0:/PSP/GAME/<Name>/Eboot
