Hi everybody.
My son's psp is not working no more. It happen when he was changing his theme/ wallpaper. After pressing <apply> on desired theme psp froze and turned itself off.
Now when you press turn on (power light is green for a while) screen just shows date, time and battery bar for about 10 seconds and PSP turns off.
It's PSP 2001 with 3.11 customware/bricked.
Please could you help in this matter.

Best bet / easiest thing to do would be to reflash the psp with cfw.

Either using a Pandora + MMS.

Or Putting Hellcat's Recovery Flasher V1.60 + 5.00 ofw update (To update to latest 5.00m33-6) in the PSP/GAME folder. Turn on the psp while holding the Right trigger to enter the Recovery Menu, then select the option "Run program at /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP after that Hellcat's will boot up and you can reflash.

PSP Downloads | Recovery Flasher v1.60 download this and place it in your memory sticks PSP/Game Folder. Next PSP Downloads | 5.00 Firmware Update placing it in the Hellcats folder. After that go into recovery and run the program, it'll boot up Hellcat's. Once booted choose to install 5.00m33.

To place the files on your MS, you can either use an adapter and plug it into your pc, or you can plug a usb into your psp, then go into the Recovery menu and toggle usb mode.

After that (installing 5.00 firmware will I be able to -------? )

Where should I make folder <Hellcat>? In whicd direcory? Besides Game?,

To jubbabubba
I have to 2 questions...after extracting flasher file it makes 2 folders on my pc- one with < %_sce_rflash > name, one < _sce_rflash >. Both files are with different size. Which one to choose?
And where should I make that Hellcat folder? Under PSP/Game?

From my understanding it will be following: under PSP/Game will be eboot.pbp (with 137 kb) and folder <Hellcat> which contains another EBOOT.PBP (with size 26.472 kb).

you got the second part right except it should just be the hellcat's folder with the hellcat.pbp (not the actually name) in it, and you should put the update at the root of your memory card (in other words it shouldn't be in any folders, just on the mem card)

There is no discussion of this allowed here. Zincha, you know what it said.

Just a friendly reminder, but don't talk about that again.
