The Basics.

Ok guys, I realise some of you are coming here to hack/put c/fw on your Psp.

Ok, here are some terms i'll be using.
MMS - Magic memory stick, part of the pandora pack that is used to hack a psp.
PANDORA BATTERY - A battery that launches the psp to service mode to enable c/fw, you can buy one online, or make one using this Guide.
C/fw - Custom Firmware. Basically what your looking at this for.
ChickHEN - Half hacking your psp as it were. Enables most homebrew [the homebrew bit is what HEN means].
Anything else you don't understand, put a post and i will reply.

These are the basic things you need to know.

All Psp 1000's/1k/Phat/1st model can be hacked.

All Psp 2000's WITHOUT THE TA-088 v.3 MOTHERBAORD can be hacked.

All Psp 3000's Can only Run ChickHEN, Or a "half hack" if they are under 5.03 firmware. Nothing else can be modded on it.

You might be thinking, how do i know if my psp is hackable? Well, if its a 3000 then it can't be hacked, but to check if it the 2k can be hacked click Here.



Now, all Hackables can be hacked in 2 ways.

1. Using a pandora battery and magic memory stick.

To install the C/fw, click Here. [the same guide as the panora maker, but it has the info.] NOTE: ONLY FOR HACKABLES, AND FOR SLIMS YOU MAY NEED TO HOLD THE BATTERY IN.
2. Using ChickHEN - Only for Psp's on or under 5.03.

Now, un-hackables can run ChickHEN if its under or on 5.03 - homebrew enabler. It can't do all the things c/fw can, and if you swtich off your psp fully you will lose the ChickHEN, Unless you use sedna.

If this is going to be the BEGINNER section, then include a complete dictionary reference to what each one of those terms mean. I mean seriously, how many beginners come here knowing what CFW, Pandora,and/or what a MMS is? Hell, some people don't even know the PSP uses MSPD... Too many broad topics.
