sounds like it was unhackable.

Hello!
I got my PSP 2006 with 5.03 GEN-C firmware. I thought I had to update it and updated it to 5.50 GEN-D3...which as I now understand was wrong?
So after I updated my PSP to 5.50 GEN-D3, it just wouldn't turn on (and green light on, you know). I read that I had to do the pandora battery and memory stick thingy. I successfully (looks so at least) made my pandora battery and a memory stick with 5.00 M33. It still wont turn on. I guess the problem here is the memory stick? Sorry for such a noobish questions. I just got very confused with all these versions.
I had 5.03 GEN-C, updated to 5.50 GEN-D3 (I don't know if it did update though, since it wouldn't turn on). What do I need to have on my memory stick?
Cheers!

serial number under the battery is?

It's HE0856332
I really hope there is a way to restore it! I'm going away in 5 days and I need it with me!
well, i uhh....the only thing you could try is using a pandora and a correctly made mms and try. H should have been hackable.
did you ever run pspident when you did your chickhen thing?

I actually got it with 5.03 GEN-C installed already. It worked well, played for a couple of days and since some new games didn't work I thought I had to upgrade it! I'm kind of a PSP noob still
So I assume my mistake was the version I tried to update to?
ya, out of all that time, you never ran pspident?

Nope!
What should be my steps? :P
Also, I used different (formated) memory card for recovery than the one I used when it worked. Though it's not a problem I guess.
Oh and I read somewhere that to make sure that pandora battery thingy went well, one can just put in the battery and the green light should blink. It did not for me.
how did you make the mms?

mspformated the memory stick, and then used RainsIPLMStool (with 500.PBP file).
Also since I do not have a cardreader now my method was quite strange. I have a phone with small M2 memory stick, so I pretty much used the phone as a cardreader. Then I put that M2 into a Duo adapter and into PSP.
........ummm wow, i uh.. idk

Yeah I'm just quite desperate to have my PSP working asap :/ I laugh from my methods as well.
But considering what I told about my firmware, what tools and firmware should I use to get it working? I'm going to get a card reader tomorrow.
first we gotta unbrick it first. get a card reader, a 2GB card also while your at it. then talk to me about the next step.

Yep cool, I'll be here tomorrow.
Thanks for replying. Gave me some hope.
