As we all know, in VSH menu, we can raise the CPU speed to a maximum of 333MHz, and the BUS speed to a maximum of 166 MHz...

Now i ask, is there any way to raise it even more? about 444/222 MHz?

As in any other application of overclocking, all you would need to do (basically) is increase the voltage supplied to the CPU.

If it even works and turns on, you'll have to deal with heat and guaranteed decreased longevity.

But really, what's the point? Are you calculating complicated algorithms?

i havent seen such a feat done, there's a lot of fake videos out there. thing is, you probably won't see much of a difference in most games because they have frameskip. the latest ones (post-3.71) have better gfx and looser frameskips, but 444 is way too much for a 333mhz cpu. i've heard 2% oc'ing is the safe point for any cpu, imagine doing that on the psp.

Technically it's not overclocking since the PSP is designed to run at 333MHz, but most games don't take advantage of it. It will drain your battery faster, but it is helpful for highly-compressed CSOs.

But PSX games weren't supported until 3.XX firmware. The CPU design itself allows it to run at that speed. Previously, it was locked to 222 MHz even though it had the capacity to run at 333 MHz. Now that option is unlocked.
