did you do anything with the faceplate at all, maybe even drip something on it. could be a buggy homebar. regardless of the issue, and some will recommend it anyway.....you could upgrade your cfw to GEN-D3. GEN-A is old.

my psp is acting very weird nowwhen i connect it to my computer using the usb cable, it gets disconnected automatically and whenever i play any games, the exit menu (the one that appears when you press 'home') starts appearing and disappearing even though i don't press anything :@
well... it started being that way after i downloaded a homebrew app.. but my other psp works fine.. same version (cfw),same model psp and with the same homebrew app..
its cfw... 5.50 Gen A.. phat psp

i got my psp cfw in a shop.. but would i be able to upgrade it by myself?
i don't own a pandora battery or the magic memory stick
or don't i need any of this to upgrade it?? im so bad with cfw.. i tried to downgrade and cfw my psp before.. and it got bricked
can i just upgrade my 5.50 gen a without pandora,magic,downgrading??
03-01-2010, 10:38 AM yeah, you said you're on 5.50genA, genA sucks to be honest...go to Gen D3 instead...no memory stick needed at all...

so i can just upgrade it from my current version without upgrading it to any other version before...
03-01-2010, 02:10 PM you need it, cause D3 is an installer, like how you got onto genA...but you only need that for the B installer, then flash B2...keep the 550.pbp file on the stick and just install the D3 installer after B2 is done...
it's fairly simple to do...let me know if you get any issues
