My son bricked my psp. I have a pandora battery and made a magic memory stick. I get the install 5.00 M33 boot menu and select install 5.00 M33.
What I get then is Loading updater modules then get Formatting flash0 where it just sits then powers off. I have done everything by the book and it seems that everything was done right but no success in formatting the flash0. Any help would be appreciated. Using psp grader v006 on a vista computer (yes I ran it in admin mode). Thanks for any help you can give

go to my guide, try running Rains mms programmer...

    all else fails, try this:

download my mms root pack i made, follow the readme i provided, if this error still happens to you...go into the boot menu again, choose test M33 option, go to my games on the stick and try running hellcats or either of the D installers...

if you need tips on any of those alternates, refer to the proper sections in my guide...let me know

Yeah just tried the test option on the psp grader one and the software works great on the psp and I can scroll etc on it, it just doesn't want to reflash the roms I guess. I'm gonna find the rains one and try that then get your root pack hopefully one will work. Thanks

i would just try mine...it's ready to go, easy to use and has everything in there for you try to multiple ways

    1...try the readme's way
2...test M33 and go to my games and run hellcats
3...test M33 and try running either D1 and then D2 quick patch or just run D3

Ok Since that didn't work, i'm downloading your MMS root pack and gonna try that. For some reason the MMS is working, it just won't format flash0 it hangs there then goes off. but I will try your mms I tried running hellcats but get the error the game could not be started (8002014c) but will let you know what happens after installing your mms root pack and trying that, it might just be my card reader on my computer or I could have some corrupted files.

Well tried hellcats 1.6 on your mms - it loaded and started, formatted flashs and then said going hot writing flash0 where it hung and then shut down. Tried promethus, tried D3, tried hellcats 1.5 (game could not be started error again). I'm gonna take the files to my laptop and use the card reader on it, the one up here goes through the printer so i'm thinking that could be my problem. But all the programs seem to get to where it's writing to the flash then hang and shut down. Haven't tried it with umd driver set to m33 yet but will see if that works. but will try to make the mms on my laptop where the computer direct accesses the card and not go through the printer.

Actually Nothing worked. I finally figured WTF and did a nand dump. Found like 10-12 bad blocks. Then tried to format the four different flashs which would go to 95% where it was supposed to be partitioning it and it hung and shut down. Reboot with pandora and your mms again, do test m33, go back under nand and do restore. rewrote the nand and viola it booted back to screen my son had on it. So rebooted with pandora and your mms then installed 5.0 m33 worked like a charm. So I guess if someone is having the shutdown during the update process to just do a nand dump, then restore it back which should fix it.. Hope this helps someone else, and thank you so much for all your help!
