Help Needed: Downgrade 6.31-5.03

Hey there, everyone.

I've got this 1K sitting here that I'd love to be able to mod. Only problem is, I updated it to OFW 6.31 recently. The closest moddable version I've heard of is 5.03, but when I download it to my MS and try to run it, it of course says there's no need to update.

I'm not using an MMS or Pandora Battery, because I have neither. Is it impossible to downgrade from my current OFW without these tools? I really would rather not use them, on account of my budget.

Any helpful advice is appreciated.

your budget has to be raised to $6.10 plus shipping. i suggest you get the pandora at that price in dealextreme.com

the mms you can make with your own, though 2gb or lower is what i recommend. no, it's not permanent, just backup your stuff, make it a mms, use it then reformat it.

Ahhh. So a pandora battery has to be bought in order to mod, and then once the system is modded, you can create a pandora battery from an original? That seems so backwards to me. But.. *shrug* If you say so.

As for the MS, I've got a 4GB in it right now. Is it dangerous for some reason to use the larger ones?

actually, you do have it right. your 1k will be able to make pandoras out of original batts (and revert them) after it's been modded. im surprised a noobish person got this.

theres no danger involved with the MS, it's just that they dont seem to work well 4gb+. i've heard of people doing it with them, but in MY experience, it failed completely with a 4gb, but worked perfecty with 2gb using the same setup.

(hahaha. I'm only a newbie to this scene, so it was pretty easy to catch on.)
