ripping games doesn't generate keys. i know what you're trying to dodge, but it's ok as long as you try. keys are files included in PSN versions of games, thats all

can anyone explain what a keys file is and what program creates them? the reason i ask is i was given ff7 on a usb by a friend (ripped from my own discs) and its got keys files for each disc, in the folders with the eboots. and its the only game ive had working so far 100% without flaw. im trying to do it myself making an iso and using psx2psp but only getting an eboot without a keys file that doesnt run properly or goes corrupt after putting it to memory stick. starting to get frustrated now i only really wanna play resi!!

hows he got a game off psn to usb? can you do that?
sorry ill rephrase that, i didnt mean you as in you i meant you as in anyone, how do you get games off psn to work with psp?
as far as i CAN tell you, any psn-downloaded game should work fine as long as the firmware supports it. if it's on an usb drive, we're crossing piracy issues.

right, understood. any idea why eboots im making would keep showing as corrupt data? is that down to firmware? im itchin to get resi3 goin, the iso was made with alcohol and then to eboot with psx2psp. ive redone it 4-5 times so far, it all sounds pretty foolproof on the forums and guides but im definately going wrong somewhere.
yeah, i went through hell ripping ff7. try using clonecd, and im not sure but i think i made .bin files instead, try it
