Need Help In upgrading CFW 5.50 Gen-B To CFW 5.50 Gen-D3

Ya. As the title suggest. Yup. I need help in that. My current CFW was upgraded by some guy but he has been out of the PSP scene for a year or so. Thus, not very keen on helping me to upgrade. So i am hoping that you guys can help me in that. Like post steps for me to follow as to how to upgrade. And btw I know almost nothing about upgrading CFWs. So I hope you guys can help me. I read that sticky already. But other sites states that my psp batt has to be 78%. Need to upgrade to 5.50 Gen B-2 before going to 5.50 Gen D-3. And what is Prometheus?

I read that sticky already. Dont really understand as other sites say that my batt has to be at least 78%, I need to upgrade my CFW to 5.50 Gen-B2 first before upgrading to 5.50 Gen D-3. And what is prometheus? Also is it that simple to upgrade like just copying the upgrade file and place in into the game section of the PSP and just run it after I on the PSP? Cos alot people say different stuff. So kinda confused. Thanks in Advance.

ok bro download gen d3 installer extract it place it in psp/game and place the 550.pbp in the root of your memory stick then exit usb mode and run the installer from your xmb and install gen d3. yes it better to have a charged battery cause if it died it would brick your system then you would need a pandora battery and magic memory stick to unbrick it . and promethus is a patch for gen d3 that allows you to play games that require i firmwear higher the 6.20 to play

yes 6.20 ofw and higher newer games require a higher ofw to play so you would need prometheus to run them its in section 7 of that mega guide you said you read

Sorry for troubling you. Last few questions. Haha. Is is advisable to get prometheus or i should just patch the games using ISO tool if i were to get 6.20 games or higher? And just curious, why people from other PSP sites said that I should upgrade my CFW to 5.50 Gen B-2 first before going to 5.50 gen D-3 whereas everyone from this site states otherwise?

your not troubling me bro if you were i would not have helped you.i run prometheusV4 on my psp and it plays all my new games just fine. that prom patch is pretty much isotool but built in so you dont have to use isotool to decrypt the game prom dose it for you .

O. OKOK. Thanks alot. Haha. I think I will upgrade my CFW to 5.50 Gen B-2 first before going to 5.50 Gen D-3. Haha. Just in case. And btw the latest version for prometheus is V5 or V4? Is there any diff? as in like if I were use the lower version of it, i cant patch games that come out after that version or the versions of prometheus dont really matter? It can patch all games regardless of when it is launched?

what current cfw are you on i thought you were allready on b2 and i dont think there is a V5 for prom

just to add, yes you are right that you must be on B2 to install D3 or you'll get errors...other than that, dank got you covered

Ok. Just remembered something. Haha. Do I have to backup my files and reformat my memory stick after I upgrade my CFW? Or I can just leave it alone?
