Hello. I am completely new to this hacking scene but I have had experience modding other consoles (Wii and a Sega Dreamcast) and even games themselves (N64 mainly). Anyways, I have done my fair share of research but am still wondering whether I can hack my PSP at all. Here is what I know:

    PSP phat 1001
512 MB Sandisk (MagicGate) memory stick
    Battery pack model 110
    OFW 6.37

So what is the most recommended way for me to go about hacking my PSP? Or will I have to sit and wait because I have OFW 6.37 ? :P

Thanks in advance for any assistance to a humble n00b

So even though I have OFW 6.37 my PSP is completely hackable? I want to make sure before I accidentally brick my PSP due to what may be misleading information

All PSP 1000s are completely hackable. The recommended method is buying a Pandora Battery ($6) or making one using your available battery. Then, make a Magic Memory Stick (MMS) using any memory stick ranging from 512MB-8GB. There's guides all over this site on PB + MMS hacking.

Thanks for the help guys I will try this out later today. However, is using a pandora battery and MMS the only option for me or are there other methods I can use? I'm just curious thats all

Well, couldn't he also use one of those temporary CFWs, install Hellcat's, then use Hellcat's to downgrade him to a permanent CFW like 5.50 GEN-D3/5.00 M33-6? I mean, having a PB + MMS has it's obvious un-bricking capabilities, but if he doesn't care about that, couldn't the above method work?

if there was a hbl for 6.37...i googled it, never seen it on sites either but all the vids for it have comments ripping the posters cause it's totally fake, giving links to surveys and such.

but if it was on 6.35, yes for sure

1st link when you click the sig link on my guide.

its a more detailed guide for those that need to use a pandora battery/mms method and one of the very few that works flawless on vista and windows 7

it also has patch files to install a second menu that can run up to 5.50 gen-d3 via the pandora method keep the mms files from this on your psp after you use this method and your pandora can stay in pandora mode but still function normal unless you hold the keys to switch to pandora menu.i always loved my method not because i wrote it but also because if your trying new homebrew and such that bricks your psp.some stuff can do this,or brick it in any way the pandora menu option will still work to instantly fix you.good luck and happy modding
