So I've come across a PSP 2000 and have been interested in custom firmware. I try not to be the guy who is always asking exactly what needs to be done, so after reading around I think I've got it figured out. I'm just going to post what I think is the best way of getting CFW on my PSP 2000 and if you guys want to give me some feedback just so I know I'm on the right track that would be great.
I read up on serial numbers and discovered that I have one of the lower serial numbers before the cutoff where the unhackable motherboard was implemented, thus I'm pretty sure my PSP 2000 is hackable. I also understand that using chickHen removes the need for a pandora battery.
I'm pretty much following "Guide: ChickHen + Cfw for 1ks and Hackable 2ks" in the PSP firmware section.
-Right now my PSP2000 has OFW 5.00. I will start by upgrading to OFW 5.03
-I will be downloading and installing chickHen for psp2000
-I will then download Hellcat's Recovery Flasher V1.60 and 5.00m33-6
-After extracting I will then run hellcats with the target set to 5.00
-I will then download and install 5.50 Gen-D3
-Then I will download and install Prometheus (5.50 Gen-D3 extension)
I should then be good to go. Thanks for any feedback.

That's pretty much correct. Just remember that Prometheus-4 is what you're looking for.
Just to be extra safe i'd use Pspident (You can pick it up from my unhackables guide in the sig) and run that to identify your exact motherboard, then you can move back to the guide for hackables. Not really necessary since you've gone through the process of looking up the serial, but it'll add a bit to your confidence and you'll know what your exact mobo is, just for shits and giggles.![]()
^^^ exactly right there!! run pspident just to be safe on not bricking your system

Thanks guys, everything worked great. Just a couple follow-up questions.
-Can I now delete all of the files I used to install CFW from the memory stick?
-If so, doesn't that mean I could switch to a bigger memory stick without affecting the CFW at all?
Thanks
yes, you can delete what you used to upgrade the cfw. and yes, you can switch out your ms for the bigger one.
