I dont have a psp but want to buy one, and I want to softmod it to run emulators/backups. Can I buy one of the moddable versions new from gamestop or is that something I have to get online somewhere. Im thinking they only sell the newer models which arent moddable like the 3000. Can I just walk in there and buy a new 1000 and softmod it?

Yes for $90 +tax. Might as well pay $120 +tax for a hackable slim.

Ebay is a good hunting ground as well, purchased an apparently damaged 1k for $20 that I was going to use for spare parts, turns out it works perfectly, I actually feel kinda guilty for getting it so cheap cause the owner was apparently clueless and didn't think to check the power adapter and/or battery
I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way...

I've come across a few of these . Turned around and sold them for a small profit
