Downgrade PSP

ok i have an idea i havent been able to test cuz i'm on firmware 6.60 pro :|
but my idea is that since lets say you have 5.00 ofw and want to downgrade to 3.87 cfw you need psp claw explorer and your update folder.
ok go to claw explorer thing and go to PSP\GAME\anything\EBOOT.PBP.
and it will boot up like normal and start the update.
the reason i think this will work is cuz if booted thru claw thingy it bypasses the "no need to update" thing.

like i said i tested it on 5.50 and i was like 7 so i dont remember :P
