I just purchased it thinking it was hackable but now I'm hearing mixed things from people.
Can anyone tell me if you can mod this psp and if so do I have to use a special cfw or can I just use 6.60 lme or 6.60 me??
Thanks in advance.

If its a 3000, then use this:6.60LME-1.8 - Downloads - PSPMOD.com - PSP / PS Vita Forums

For future reference or any other new members reading this... all PSP's are hackable these days and none require a Pandora battery (unless they somehow brick). What matters is your motherboard. You can install full CFW on any Phat 1000 or white/red/silver Slim 2000. Some black, blue or any other color Slim 2000's are actually fully hackable but to find out safely you would first need to install a Lite CFW (LCFW) and then run a homebrew program called pspident. All 3000's, PSP Go!'s and E-1000 can only run LCFW which is functionally equivalent to full CFW and works quite well these days.
The God of War Slim 2000 should be fully hackable (because they came out in June of 2008 and the "unhackable" mobo was introduced in late August of 2008) but I personally do not have experience with them so I'd recommend you run pspident once you get your LCFW going.
Here is a handy chart below, or more specifically for Slim 2000's, here is my guide for determining if a Slim is fully hackable or not.
If this picture is your PSP then you definitely have a Slim/2000 that should be fully hackable.

Nice, I totally forgot about those and assumed you meant it was the 2000 one. Yeah, that is a 3000 and has the "unhackable" mobo so LCFW is your only option. That isn't a bad thing as 6.60ME and 6.60LME are both excellent firmwares and highly stable. Dare I say, maybe even as good as the best M33 CFW's from back in the day.

Alright, thanks guys. =]
Edit*
Actually, I have another question, will I have to already be on another CFW to download 6.60 LME or ME?? That's what I heard on some video.

Nope, you just update straight to 6.60 official and then run the installer for 6.60LME.
Future reference: special edition psps are simply psps with a fancy faceplate, or simply shell for noobs
