resident evil for ps1

yeah, the first resident evil is good, but the graphics and dialouge kindof suck. I'm a huge fan of the series, so i would reccomend resident evil remake for the gamecube.(it is one, but much better)

Resident Evil original is an excellent game, even considering the poor script and voice acting. However, you have to realize that it was one of the first games in existence that actually HAD voice acting, so it's understandable. If you don't have a Gamecube you should definitely try it out. If you DO have a Gamecube, just get the Resident Evil Remake, it's a whole new kind of experience. It's also arguably the best game on Gamecube in terms of plot, visual realism and overall execution.

Generally, the best reason to play Resident Evil original is so you can move on to Resident Evil 2 and 3 RE2 is definitely one of the top ten games on PSOne.

Yep, personally I like resident evil 3 the best for ps1 and 4 for ps2. When i get a ps3 im getting resident evil5

I prefer RE1 over the 3D version on gamecube, call me oldschool. I bought my DS for the sole purpose of playing the old FF and RE games.

I wouldn't go for the RE Original, though, get Resident Evil Director's Cut. It has the original Uncut Japanese version on it and the original American version. Im guessing they cut out abunch of the stuff coming over from Japn since the Uncut version has a lot more content (scenes and more action). You never get to see zombies jumping through windows in American one, but it happens A Lot in uncut one.

But ya if you havent touched the series much it's a good idea to start from the beginning. 1, 2, 3, zero, outbreak 1&2, then 4... and 5 next year. Thats the best sequence I can think to play them. I didnt mention Code Veronica, Survivor, or Dead Aim because they weren't good at all IMO. I can still remember when I first played 3 and the Nemesis could follow you to the next room... scared the *&^% outa me

Theres nothing wrong with choosing to play old school games over newschool. Personally, my friends make fun of me because one of my favorite games is resident evil3, but I don't care, I have history with that game. They would rather play that game for ps3 that you get for free.
Nemesis is the shit. He can cock a rocket launcher with one hand lol.
Its my overall favorite for ps1. and when I get a new psp im getting it one there the first day.

They even had a RE game for Gameboy, cant remember the name of it right now however. Awesome game, and I've played/beaten all of them. Except for Survivor...never had the opportunity to try that one. Heard it was kinda the left overs from the series though...sad.

Yeah... Survivor and Dead Aim aren't considered to be part of the main RE line by the fans. They were less than stellar. The Outbreak series was good but it's also considered to be non-canonical.

RE1-4 + Code Veronica / Zero are considered to be canonical.
